| ABSTRACT | Artificial Intelligence (AI) is swiftly revolutionizing the Information Technology (IT) sector by altering job functions, automating repetitive tasks, and generating a need for new skill sets. This research paper examines the influence of AI on employment trends within the IT industry, concentrating on how job duties are changing as a result of AI integration. It evaluates modifications in positions such as software development, system maintenance, data analysis, and cybersecurity, while also recognizing new roles in AI and machine learning. The paper underscores both the advantages AI offers—such as enhanced productivity and innovation—and the challenges it poses, including job displacement and skill shortages. Through a review of existing literature, industry analysis, and case studies, this study concludes that while AI will phase out certain conventional roles, it will simultaneously generate new, more sophisticated positions. The findings highlight the necessity for ongoing upskilling, flexibility, and strategic workforce planning to ensure that the IT workforce can prosper in a future driven by AI. |
