TITLE Drainage Cleaning Robot using Raspberry
ABSTRACT Drainage systems play a vital role in maintaining hygiene and preventing waterlogging in urban areas. However, the accumulation of solid waste, plastic, and other debris often leads to clogging of drainage pipelines, resulting in overflow, foul odor, and environmental pollution. Manual cleaning of drainage systems is not only time-consuming but also poses serious health and safety risks to human workers. This project focuses on the development of an “Autonomous Drainage Cleaning Robot using Raspberry Pi and Arduino”, designed to clean drainage water efficiently without human intervention. The proposed system is equipped with a robotic arm and gripper mechanism for collecting floating waste and a container for storing debris. The Raspberry Pi serves as the main controller, handling high-level operations and image processing, while the Arduino Uno manages low-level motor and servo control. The robot is waterproof and capable of operating in wet or partially submerged environments. The robot uses sensors and a camera to detect obstacles and waste materials in the drainage system. Upon detecting debris, the robotic arm automatically collects and deposits it into the container. The system can be programmed to operate autonomously or controlled remotely for monitoring and maintenance. This automated drainage cleaning robot aims to reduce human effort, improve efficiency, and ensure safe and hygienic cleaning of drainage systems, thereby contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
