| TITLE | Data Privacy in Social Media Platform |

| ABSTRACT | Social media platforms have become an integral part of communication, collaboration, and information sharing. WhatsApp, as one of the most widely used messaging applications, provides users with instant messaging, voice, video calls, and media sharing services. However, its increasing reliance on personal data collection and sharing practices has raised significant concerns about data privacy and user security. The platform’s end-to-end encryption ensures a degree of confidentiality, yet issues such as metadata tracking, third-party data sharing, and evolving privacy policies create challenges for safeguarding user information. This study examines the role of WhatsApp in the context of data privacy on social media platforms, highlighting both the strengths of its security mechanisms and the limitations that expose users to risks. It also explores the balance between user convenience and privacy protection, stressing the need for transparent policies, stricter regulatory frameworks, and enhanced user awareness. The findings aim to contribute to a better understanding of privacy implications in WhatsApp and to encourage future research on developing safer and more trustworthy digital communication environments. |
