TITLE A Technical Study on the Design and Implementation Potential of Google Coral Edge TPU
ABSTRACT More and more people are demanding edge AI solutions that perform efficiently. Consequently, we are witnessing an increasing number of small, energy-efficient platforms capable of performing machine learning inference locally. The Google Coral Development Board, powered by the Edge TPU, is an AI accelerator that allows you to do AI processing fast and locally on the device without having to use cloud resources as much. This article dives deep into the Coral Development Board covering its design, components, software, and applications. We also compare it with other boards, review its strengths and weaknesses, and speculate on its potential.
