| TITLE | A Review on Next-Gen Intelligent System for Dairy Product Authentication and Supply Chain Traceability |
|---|---|
| ABSTRACT | The dairy industry faces major challenges in ensuring the authenticity, freshness, and quality of products due to adulteration, counterfeit labelling, and lack of transparency in the supply chain. This review paper examines recent advancements in Blockchain and IoT-based systems developed to address these issues. The study explores how IoT sensors such as pH, fat, TDS, and temperature sensors integrated with microcontrollers like ESP32 can capture real-time data on product quality, while Blockchain ensures tamper-proof storage and transparent traceability. Through a secure QR-based verification mechanism, consumers can access verified details of dairy production and quality tests, promoting confidence and safety. The paper reviews multiple frameworks that link farm-to-consumer data flow using decentralized ledgers and cloud integration. It further analyzes limitations in current centralized tracking systems, highlighting issues of data tampering, scalability, and lack of interoperability. Finally, the review identifies key opportunities for improvement, including AI-based adulteration prediction, rural deployment using GSM/LoRa modules, and government-backed certification frameworks. Overall, Blockchain and IoT convergence presents a transformative solution for building a smart, transparent, and trustworthy dairy supply chain. |
