| TITLE | A Cluster based Rician Noise Removal Technique using LMMSE and NLM Filtering for Magnetic Resonance Images |

| ABSTRACT | In the field of image processing, Medical image processing becomes most interesting and ignited topic of research. This research work is targeted for image denoising process and its improvement for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images. It is very effective and beneficial for diagnosis of various major diseases. During the acquisition, MR images affected by random noise can be modeled as Gaussian or Rician distribution. There is need of compromise between de-noising quality and edge preservation to use images for real time application. In this paper, This research proposes a novel denoising techniques for MRI images. Here study is done for enhancement of NLM to improve the performance. The proposed methods have been compared with existing state of art methods like a Standard LMMSE and MC Filltering. The analysis is based on values of PSNR and SSIM. The performance investigation of proposed methods has been done on brainweb dataset. The simulation results confirm the superiority of proposed methods as compared to existing denoising methods in removal of Gaussian as well as Rician noises. |
